The interesting thing about Van’s show was that is artwork was created for the space. The show took place in a rundown townhouse in Hampden. The walls had wallpaper that was peeling off; there were holes in the floor and no walls separating the rooms. Van created work that echoed marks that were made on the walls of the townhouse. His work ranged from paintings that were the size of a piece of paper to paintings that were taller than me! His work also showed different styles: from realism to abstract. I could spend an hour looking at one of his paintings. They draw you in, wanting to research every area with your eyes.
